Dooley Foyer

William Connally
A series of dynamic narrative photographs

"With this series, I strive to depict locations and characters on the threshold between two different states...The moments depicted are periods of suspension, just before or after an unseen event has occurred, and change is inevitable."

Dooley Hall

John Bailey
"Labyrinth"

A progressive, site-specific, installation of drawings, rendered with crayola crayon on polyester chiffon, each 7 feet tall and varying widths. Ordinarily, the drawings are hung with the bottom touching the floor and placed in the space away from the wall, creating a translucent maze of images, with passages through which the view moves freely. However, in this installation, the drawings are hung on the wall to take advantage of the warm yellow light there.

Second Floor Gallery

"Voices for Change"
Mixed media artwork by Virginia's foster care youth.

The "Voices for Change" project invited youth in foster care between the ages of 12 and 21 to submit original artwork, photographs, and writing that depicted their experiences in Virginia's foster care system.

Visit the Voices for Virginia's Children website here.

Attend the panel presentation & reception for the artists to be held on September 16th from 4-6 p.m. at the Main Public Library to celebrate this thought-provoking artwork.

We hope to see you here on Friday!
