Celebrating the Holidays at RPL

Can you believe the holidays are upon us already? We are doing lots of fun things at Richmond Public Library locations to help you celebrate. There is something on our December calendar to get everyone in the spirit! We are holding several family events for people of all ages, as well as childrens' story times with special holiday themes.

Richmond Boys Choir performing at RPL in 2004.
The Richmond Boys Choir will perform their 14th annual concert at the Main Library on Saturday, December 11th at 2 pm. This performance has become an annual tradition. The Boys Choir was founded in 1996 through a collaboration with Theatre IV and the Boys and Girls Club of Richmond. The homegrown group has become nationally recognized and we're so glad they come back every year to sing at Richmond Public Library. A great crowd comes to see these young men perform, and you can expect this concert to be something really special.

On Thursday, December 9th, come spend an afternoon with Charles Dickens! At 1 pm, Dr. Eric Douglass will present a dramatic reading of A Christmas Carol, dressed in period costume and using stage notes from Dickens' actual performance.

Broad Rock Library will hold a holiday open house on Friday, December 17th from 4:30 to 5:30. Stop by for refreshments and craft-making!

For the younger members of your family, there are several story times and craft-making events planned to suit the merry mood:
