Back in April the Main Library had an exhibition called, "Why Children's Book: Inspiring Generations", which featured 50 leaders in Richmond who have shared with us the role children's books played in their lives. The exhibit ended up at the Children's Museum of Richmond and it is now on display at the VCU James Branch Cabell Library. The exhibit is now called, "Books You Carry with You", and it runs until late September. Some of the leaders who have shared their childhood book inspirations are VCU President Michael Roa and Coach Shaka Smart.
VCU wants students, facility, alumni, and other people in the community to share their children's book inspiration. For those who are interested in sharing their inspiration, can do so on a board that is displayed in the VCU library's foyer.
More information about this exhibit can be found at this link: Book You Carry with You.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Friends of the Richmond Public Library.
