42: An African American Baseball Legend

The movie 42: The True Story of an African American Legend depicts the life of Jackie Robinson (played by Chadwick Boseman) who became the first African-American to play professional baseball. He was signed to the Brooklyn Dodgers and was guided by the team executive Branch Rickey (played by Harrison Ford).

The Richmond Public Library has several books about Jackie Robinson that you may want to read-for children and adults. If you are going to see the movie, we encourage you to read some of these titles.
