Super Fun Children's Programs

A lot of exciting things have been happening for children at RPL recently. Last week, we had three VERY successful programs that were held in partnership with the Richmond Symphony. The Green Eggs and Ham programs were so much fun, and we're thankful that we could participate in the first LolliPop Concert program. We had a huge turnout of daycare groups and families for the story times with Richmond Symphony Associate Conductor Erin R. Freeman as well as the performance by Michael Boudewyns (the artist who starred as Sam-I-Am in last Saturday's LolliPop Concert).

And the trend of fun and exciting children's programs continues. In fact, we have some great children's programs happeneing at RPL locations tomorrow, Thursday, February 24th. I hope families will have time to make it out to one of these events.

February is National Children's Dental Health month, and the children's department at the Main Library is celebrating with a special toothy event! Come to a special program focused on dental health at 4 pm in the children's area of the library. Children will learn all about their pearly whites.

At the West End Library, there will be an Angelina Ballerina Story Time at 4:30 pm. Join Richmond Ballet ballerina, Katherine Smothers, to learn some ballets steps and hear an Angelina Ballerina story. Certainly feel free to wear your tu-tu to this event! This story time requires registration, so call 646-1877 to sign up.

And at Ginter Park, celebrate National Tortilla Day at 6 pm! Enjoy chips and salsa, a craft, and a Mexican folklore tale with Ms. Tori.

If you can't make it to one of the events tomorrow, don't worry. We have great children's programs happening all the time. Grab a Check It Out brochure next time you're in the library to see what's going on this month at your branch.
